When we look back to the 50’s the glamour and style was not only a demand but a way of living. Movies, literature, fashion, all was involved in this elegant way of living.
The actresses from this decade were an inspiration and still are, so we are doing our tribute to them. To give them “perfect lighting” this time time we allowed ourselves to experiment with stunning contemporary portuguese brand Delightfull chandeliers.
Grace Kelly
When we talk about glamour, her name is one that comes to our mind. Known for being also the princess of Monaco, Grace Kelly, added glamour to Hollywood. Her most famous movies were with Sir Alfred Hitchkok “Rear window”, “Dial M for Murder”, and other just showed how lovely she was. If we talk abou the 50’s we must talk about her! Marilyn was the most iconic actress of her age, and still remains widely adored. Her beatuy and irreverence were unique. So unique, that she inspired artists, musicians and others. “Gentlemen Prefers Blondes” and “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” were some of the movies that she performed. Known, also for her love life, Marylin posed for Playboy and made Kennedy’s birthday an iconic moment in USA’s contemporary history by her singing. Kim Novak
Born in Chicago, Kim Novak, mostly known for her play in “Vertigo” from Alfred Hitchcok. She also casted in “Middle of the Night” and “The Notorious Landlady”. Kim’s beauty and look made her a star- she become of the most loved actresses of her time. Ike‘s look, classic and simple, but can give the perfect vintage touch to a living room. Novak was the perefect touch in Vertigo too.
Katherine Hepburn
Katharine Houghton Hepburn was an American actress of film, stage, and television. Known for her headstrong independence and spirited personality, Hepburn was a leading lady in Hollywood for more than 60 years. Katherine won an Oscar with “Morning Glory” but been not less known also for her beauty and for a really caotic love life. Rita Hayworth
Appearing first as Rita Cansino, she agreed to change her name to Rita Hayworth as well as her natural dark brown hair color to dark red to attract a greater range of roles. She also performed in Chicago as Roxie Hart. Ginger won an Oscar for her role of Kitty Fole. She played along with Roland Regan, Marylin Monroe and other amazing artist of that era. Noted for her willingness to play unsympathetic, sardonic characters, she was highly regarded for her performances in a range of film genres, from contemporary crime melodramas to historical and period films and occasional comedies, although her greatest success brought roles in romantic dramas, “Jezebel”, “The old Maid”, “All About Eve”. Thse were some of the movies where she performed, in the last ones Bette was nominated and won an award with her amazing performance in “Jezebel”. If we talk about drama, we have the perfect tribute, the amazing Amy table lamp … a tribute to Amy Winehouse, a lovely singer but a sad drama girl.

To fiinish in style, our amazing Elizabeth Taylor! Died in 2011 and still is remembered for her beauty and classy lifestyle, although the movie “Cleopatra” was her most know, she started perfoming early in the 40’s with National Velvet, and only them she starred in “Father of the Bride.” Her marriage to Richard Burton and her friendship with Michael Jackson made her also a very popular icon until know. Like her perfomings, Matheny it’s a classic that suits in a glamorous living room. Perfect, like Elizabeth Taylor.
