Maison et Objet Paris is almost here and we would like to show you some amazing brands that you can find at the show. Today we present to you: The Gambettes.
Céline Tahar and Doriane Sablon have been friends since childhood and now have this project together. The brand is characterized by a series of “ready-to-wear” furniture that plays with the nostalgia, combining design project and fashion with a wink to the fifties to create objects that attracted the attention of prescribers.

Like many of contemporaries thirties (but other age groups too), the duo likes’ 50s-inspired retro interior design and optimistic aesthetics of the period provides them a truly inspirational.
Using Formica was a conclusion beforehand: “It is a modern material. It is easy to use and when you see, the effect is similar to “madeleine moment” of Proust. Our units give rise to a form of nostalgia and triggers an emotional reaction. The atmosphere of happy days just hit to date with printed patterns – such as palm leaves Tropical Summer – and a fun selection of primary or pastel colors, so everyone can invent their own model. However, we do not want to limit ourselves to 1950 styles. In the future, we may well try our hand at other times and other materials. “
The fact remains that retro is on a roll. With around 200 outlets and annual growth of 30% in revenue The Gambettes can not complain. “We ensure that our prices are competitive, which means that we can do very well, even when times are tough,” underlines Céline Tahar.
