In February 4-8, 2014 Stockholm Furniture Fair will invite to a world’s largest meeting place for Scandinavian furniture and lightning design. This Year’s quest of honour – in installation and lounge by GamFratessi. Favourite stand: Delightfull lightning.
GamFratesi Design Studio was established in 2006, and consists of Stine Gam, born in Denmark in 1975, and Enrico Fratesi, born in 1978 in Italy. Stine Gam has a Master’s Degree in Furniture Design from the Aarhus School of Architecture. Enrico Fratesi studied architecture at the University of Florence and has a Master’s Degree in Industrial Design from the University of Ferrara.
GamFratesi embodies the fusion of Danish and Italian design. The Danish design tradition of attention to detail and minimalism is blended with quirkiness and the desire to tell a story. Contrasts frequently act as the key to GamFratesi’s inspiration, with their design flowing from everyday situations in their native cultures, and an authentic fusion of technology, poetry and tradition. Design Contract selected following must see Gam Fratessi products:
The Masculo chair is based on a strong contrast, as manifested in the opposition between the expressive and characteristic backrest supported by a light metal structure. The chair is aggressive and masculine, and at the same time soft and embracing, with a unique and sophisticated detailing. The upholstery work of the backrest is of very high quality of craftsmanship all closed by hand stitching in the traditional way, and with a unique hand placed detail of closure in the front of the armrests.
The upholstered shell has a basic and minimalistic shape and it is leaning on an essential structure in solid oak. The exclusive leather cushion is sophisticately taylored with a stitched motive. The design is applied to a traditional craftmanship.
Cheshire
The Cheshire Cat is a fictional cat popularised by Lewis Carroll as depiction of it in Alice in the Wonderland.
It has many interesting references to be inspired: the lamp should be just like a lazy cat on a sideboard, cosy and friendly. In the novel the world in which the cat lives is a place where everything is illogical and nonsense but the cat makes you think in a philosophical way… As well it continuously appears and disappears…like light…
For Lightning lovers and professional decorators, interior designers, interior decorators, architects and all related to hospitality service Design Contract recommend to visit stand Delightfull http://www.delightfull.eu/en/. Delightfull exhibit in HALL A 43.13. Design Contract selected following must see products of this unique brand:
A contemporary descendant of retro sphere lighting, Atomic suspension lamp is a spot-on interpretation of the atomic age design. A set of glossy black and gold plated round shades, aligned by an asymmetric composition to enhance non-conventional molecular forms. As each shade evokes a petrifying effect, it’s ideal to be placed in a modern living room to surprise your guests, as well as in a modern lobby. A breathtaking design inspired in 50’s legacy.
Cosmo Suspension
Inspired by the space with all its galaxies and planets, we are proud to present Cosmo. A dynamic piece full of energy and versatility, since all its spheres can rotate within 2 axis which enable it to cast light into any spot. Composed by 11 illuminating spheres of different sizes, the majestic lighting piece is made in aluminum and a brass body structure.
Botti Floor
Botti is the newest version of Botti family: it embodies all the details of wind instruments, transporting us to a real music concert. Its structure is handmade in brass and gently covered by a golden mantle. This outstanding piece has eight spotlights which offer a soft lighting, attributing simultaneously a cozy and sophisticated ambiance to any setting.
