Milan Furniture Fair has a history dating back to 1961, when the iSaloni first opened its doors to promote Italian furniture and furnishing accessories for the export market. Nowadays iSaloni – an invaluable tool for the industry as well as an ongoing, quite extraordinary promotional vehicle that continues to do so impeccably, ensuring that the quality of Italian furniture is known to all four corners of the earth as well as presenting the most interesting furniture brands worldwide. The 2013 edition of the event gathered 285,698 trade operators (more than half of them participating from different countries), over 38,000 members of the general public and 6,578 members of the press. Salone Internazionale del Mobile have proved to be recognised and acknowledged as exclusive showcase for the latest in furnishing, with a vast range of top quality products in every conceivable style by all the professionals following the design trends of the field, since retailers to interior architects, agents, buyers or decorators. Exhibion start at 8 and end at 13 April 2014. To the general public iSaloni is opened only at 12 – 13 of April.

Visiting the city during the furniture fair in the beginning of April will grant you the chance to see a vibrant Milan, with many decorated streets and interesting exhibition venues throughout. It goes without saying you should book your hotel weeks in advance.

Once again, Milan will have a worlwide full attention, bringing all the very latest furniture trendy solutions, boasted for the presence of leading national and global sectoral manufacturers, for instance, such as Hastens, Kvadrat, Erik Joergensen, Brabbu, Cappellini, Koket, Carpanese Home, Boca do Lobo, Flexform, Delightfull and many others, also Tom Dixon debuting at iSaloni with his NEW collection, themed under THE CLUB name; upmarket fashion brands such as Pierre Cardin and Ungaro.

As always, the wide-ranging trade fair itself will be accompanied by a collateral event curated by Francesca Molteni e Davide Pizzigoni, entitled “Where Architects live”.Shigeru Ban, Mario Bellini, David Chipperfield, Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas, Zaha Hadid, Marcio Kogan, Daniel Libeskind and Bijoy Jain/Studio Mumbai, eight leading international architects, will throw open the doors of their “private homes,” presented in pavilion 9.

In collaboration with its Department of Fashion and Design, will be promoting and setting up a structured welcome, with input from Milan’s design schools. Information stands organized in collaboration with Fiera Milano will be set up in various focal points around the city (stations, airports, undergrounds), manned by students providing visitors with logistical information on how to access the Fairgrounds and move around the city.

This year too, the Salone del Mobile has organised free entry to Milan’s city museums: the Museum of the Twentieth Century, the Archaeological Museum, the Natural History Museum, the Sforza Castle Museums, Palazzo Morando, the Civic Aquarium, the Gallery of Modern Art and the Risorgimento Museum, giving Modern Art and the Risorgimento Museum, giving to iSaloni visitors, Milanese citizens and tourists alike a chance to view their important artistic, scientific and natural collections.

Usually designs for Koket are inspired in the last trends of the fashion world, this is one of the most ephemeral worlds where trends are set every six months, its a great inspirational source for all the professionals following the design trends of the field, expecially interior designers and decorators! This year you will have a unique chance to see one of Koket’s recently awarded products – Gia chandelier. Its designer Mr. Andre Teoman was chosen as Bright Young Talent at the Light & Building Show in Frankfurt Germany. The show starts on the 30th of March. This chandelier is all made of Polished brass, but it also can be made in antique brass or stainless steel. The standard piece takes 33 flowers which make it carry 33 E14 lamps, that can be turned on all at once or half of them. In this state it measures something around 80cm of diameter and it haves 200cm height, but all of this dimensions can be easily adjustable. Already interested?
