Philippe Patrick Starck its the most famous designer on the planet, interiors or not. Todd Oldham
Todd Oldham was a wunderkind when he won the Council of Fashion Designer Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent in 1991. Two decades on, the Corpus Christi native’s resumé includes stints at Escada, Target, Old Navy, MTV’s House of Style and Bravo’s Top Design. Oldham’s The Hotel Of South Beach Miami is a funky and whimsical spot.

His design consultancy in Queensland, Australia may not have global cred but as more and more movers and shakers see The Limes Hotel Brisbane, the name Alexander Lotersztain will resonate to the rafters.

Like Armani, the Bulgari luxury label has gone hotel in a deliberate effort to extend the life of the brand. The joint venture with Marriott International is the creative force behind such posh hotels and resorts as Bulgari Bali, Bulgari Milan and Bulgari London.

Playboy and “bar tsar” Justin Hemmes (and, truthfully, parents John and Merivale Hemmes) get a lot of credit for Establishment Hotel Sydney but it is the firm of Hecker Guthrie that won awards for the property and other Merivale ventures like ivy bar.

Kelly Wearstler has done it all. Jewellery, fashion lines, photography, even Playboy (pre-design career). The noted maximalist has also made over the Avalon Beverly Hills Hotel, King & Grove Tides Hotel South Beach and Viceroy Hotel Santa Monica.
Ferragamo
Not to be outdone by the likes of Armani and Bulgari, the august Ferragamo fashion family has also made waves in the hotel business with the Lugarno Collection. The Lungarno Hotel Florence is the pillar of the brand.
Jean-Michel Gathy
If you dare to set up a first-class resort, anywhere in the world, the name Jean-Michel Gathy has to undoubtedly arise. Gathy’s interior architectures and designs have won multiple awards for resorts like Viceroy Snowmass, One&Only Reethi Rah Resort Malé and The Chedi Hotel & Spa Muscat.
