Originally the timber storage warehouse on the site, the James Perse Malibu store features exterior black stained siding, contrasted with the warmly illuminated white interior. Tall painted oak cabinetry, reclaimed teak flooring and exposed wood ceiling add to the beach house atmosphere of the space.

Inspired by the cutting edge fashion and discerning clientele for which it is known, the Maxfield store designed by Marmol Radziner at the Malibu Lumber Yard contrasts a rough exterior warehouse aesthetic with a polished interior.

Vince Melrose is located in a popular shopping district in Los Angeles. The interior structure of the existing building is exposed, highlighting features like the Douglas Fir ceiling beams and the original concrete floor.

Located on Melrose Avenue, the design of the Los Angeles boutique of Costume National explored the qualities of natural and artificial light.

Drawing inspiration from its East Hampton location, the store James Perse East Hampton design concept borrows from a modern interpretation of the east coast beach house.

Located on Robertson Boulevard, the Chan Luu boutique in Los Angeles possesses a natural, organic interior created from sand blasted birch panels and steel. The simple design provides contrast to the refined jewelry and accessories on display. To maximize the 1200 square foot space, custom casework and shelving were installed along with custom glass topped display cases.

As part of the renovation of the men’s store at the landmark Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills, Marmol Radziner designed a space dedicated to denim, the D-Bar. The lower level of the store combines a sturdy ruggedness with a contemporary refinement, much like the denim itself. Rough natural surfaces on the floors and walls bring the outdoors indoors. A beach boardwalk-inspired wooden pathway leads shoppers through the selection of denim. Industrial style lighting fixtures illuminate the denim bar sign. Custom furniture, created by Marmol Radziner’s team of craftsmen, add distinction and dimension to the floor plan.

Oliver Peoples San Francisco – The design draws inspiration from found objects on the beach, ships in the bay, and the colors of sunset and sun-bleached gray. A live-edge wood slab table, reminiscent of logs washed ashore, centers the space, while multi-length planks of live-edge wood supported by slender geometric metal bases display ornaments and smaller items. Custom bronze-colored lighting fixtures add polish and stand out against the weathered look of the consultation tables. An eye-catching woven-wood wall detail evoking the construction of a ship’s hull creates a flow that moves the eye along the lit shelves of glasses frames.
