In this article, we present you AMMO, the amazing Restaurant project by the award-winning interior design firm with a reputation for luxury interior design – Joyce Wang.
A common string ties together the large range of genres of spaces designed by WANG: They represent high-end spatial experiences that are one of a kind – composed of fully custom designed furniture and fixtures, sought-after limited edition antique pieces and artisanal crafts carefully sourced globally.
AMMO’s cinematic interiors, created by Joyce Wang of Wang Studios, took inspiration from the 1965 film noir masterpiece, Alphaville. The use of copper throughout the interior is at once luxurious and industrial while referencing the site’s military past. The result is a surreal yet modern space, nestled within the jungle that feels a world away from the bustle of the city.
The shades of the chandeliers are crafted out of bent copper mesh and rods. These raw materials reference those used in military and industrial settings.
AMMO is a multi-award winning restaurant located in the stunning heritage site of a former 19th century explosives compound. They are specialize in handmade pasta, made fresh onsite every day.
Luxurious materials such as leather, velvet and silk were chosen to offset the hard-edged custom fixtures and detailing found in the Design. With such a significant site comes inspiration drawn from a significant film noir masterpiece- Alphaville. The AMMO Restaurant nestles within a modern streamlined architectural feat whilst boasts a contrasting backdrop of tropical, almost primitive, greenery.
The AMMO restaurant not only references its prestigious context but pays tribute to it aesthetically and conceptually.
