Luxury brands constantly hunt for established architects and designers to apply their academic sensibilities to elevate a brand in order to create an impressive design. For brands and designers, the chance to create a cool concept store is the way to brand their name on the global design stage. The world of retail spaces becomes a battlefield to attract customers and with so many brands on the market, it takes bold strokes to prevail from the rest. Every few months it seems a new flagship has opened, and brands are making their mark on the map with a radical and explosive architectural vision.
Design Contract present selection of 5 most amazing concept stores and boutiques 2014.
Max Mara by Duccio Grassi Architects, Vancouver
The brand’s choice in furnishings and design concept, conceived by Duccio Grassi Architects, draws inspiration from an elegant and contemporary style, marked by white surfaces and minimalism alternated with the clever use of wood, all heightened and underlined by the lighting project.
The Max Mara Fashion Group franchisee, Vestis Fashion Group, opted for the lighting technology of Reggiani Illuminazione for the new flagship store opened in March in the Canadian city of Vancouver. Located on the extremely central Granville Street, the MaxMara flagship store covers a total area of 260 m2 inside a fully renovated space, which required painstaking work in terms of styling and layout, also because it is the first store in Canada to have a section devoted to the Bridal collection.
Pomelatto letest boutique, Hong Kong
Italian fine-jewellery house Pomelatto, Hong Kong
The exquisite Italian jewellery maison Pomellato is adored by women – not only for its distinctive jewellery, but also for the brand’s divine, sensual and unconventional spirit. Founded in Milan in 1967, Pomellato was a pioneer in introducing the ‘prêt-à-porter’ concept into the jewellery industry. Its continued ability to create collections that concur with the latest fashion trends is complemented by their dedication to creating a unique style through innovative combinations. Over the years, the brand has won hearts all over the world with their master craftsmanship, elegant details and sophisticated glamour just like our selected luxury safe.
The new Pomellato Boutique is located in the ifc mall, a prestigious location and the most prominent shopping destination in Hong Kong dedicated to luxury shopping. The boutique echoes the elegant and cultivated characteristics of all the international Pomellato stores around the world. The ample display windows shaded by wooden lacquered sheds give a glimpse of the luxurious clear-coloured interiors. Upon entering the glamorous store, the giant frame against the wall and the central golden column provide visual impact, with precious mirrors reflecting the ambient light, perfectly exalting the details of the collections – from colour stones to the seductive and exclusive warmth of rose gold. From the captivating store design to the beautiful floral arrangement and the modern red soft sofa, the shop incorporates contemporary elements into the brand’s signature design, offering a warm and welcoming space for jewellery enthusiasts and fashionistas. It also displays the Pomellato jewellery in the most refined and elegant manner befitting a brand of its stature.
IRO fashion store, Los Angeles
The space incorporates elements of exposed brick painted white, marble imported from Italy, glass and metal materials and recessed lighting. All of which complement the collection seamlessly.
IRO announces its latest store opening with a 1,800 sq. ft. location on Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice. The store layout and design are consistent with the IRO aesthetic; clean, streamlined and edgy. The space incorporates elements of exposed brick painted white, marble imported from Italy, glass and metal materials and recessed lighting. All of which complement the collection seamlessly.
Dior boutique-jewellery store at Place Vendôme in Paris
The shop itself reflects all the glamour and sophistication that the Dior brand suggests, with black marble and oak parquet flooring, silk- and leather-upholstered chairs, creatively lighted ceilings, and a selection of artwork adorning the walls. The apartment-like boutique saves you time and hassle with everything like bags, shoes, watches and jewellery all under one roof. There is a VIP salon where a Louis XVI style marble fireplace stands where couture evening dresses hang beautifully on racks. No detail is spared even in the fitting room where the walls are covered by floral embroidered silk wallpaper.
Of course, the store is a showcase for the very high-end jewelry creations of Dior, which include luxury rings, earrings, broaches, necklaces and watches, perfect to store in our selected luxury safe. These products and the artistic interior design, perfect for selected luxury safe, combine to create an atmosphere of incredible extravagance where jewels were displayed, in miniature Dior-houses.
Lee Broom, London
Lee Broom has collaborated with high street retailer Coast to design their first flagship store on London’s Oxford Street, which opened on 28 June 2012. Broom, who previously worked with Vivienne Westwood, was appointed at a pivotal and exciting time in the creative development of the brand. He has created a fresh new concept whilst capturing the essence of Coast, enabling shoppers to admire and browse collections in a classic, elegant and unrushed environment. In designing every aspect of the 1milion pound, 6000 square foot flagship store, Broom draws on his signature style of creating spaces with a sense of drama and escapism.
LUXURY store by Comet, Tirana
Located in one of the main street of Tirana, this high level clothing store has been recently renewed by Comet, that gave the project a touch of italian design. The luxury idea, as the store name itself suggests, is rendered by matching dark and clear colours, with some touches of sparkling details in chrome and mirror. The simple and elegant shapes are underlined by a skillful use of the light.
