Son of Franz Sacher, founder of the hotel, considered sreator of  the world famous Sacher torte in 1832, the chocolate cake that is a hallmark of the hotel, at Café Sacher, although this cake can now be bought in any café.  the genuine Sacher torte are are in Hotel Sacher Vienna’s  in glassed-in terrace which transforms into an open sidewalk café during the summer.
